There are countless weight loss tips that runners can use to reach their goal weight. I decided to put together some of the most important tips into a scorecard so you can assess your progress.

The key is to set realistic goals, then focus on the behaviors to make it happen!  You can do it,  I BELIEVE IN YOU!

Why?…Because I’ve been there and done that!

me

I haven’t shared this on the blog before but this was me at 22 years old.  A 200 pound, tobacco user who would eat corn dogs and ketchup for breakfast and drink a BIG GULP to wash it down (seriously).

Running has totally changed my life and it can change yours too! This is me qualifying for Boston in 2013!

The only limits you have are SELF-IMPOSED– And as I say…it’s not how you START but how you finish.

Here is what I know about running to lose…

Success is All Up To YouPicture1
The great thing about weight loss is that you’re in total control of how successful you are. If you slack off, so will your results. If you put in the work you can totally crush it. The sky is the limit to what you can achieve.

You Don’t Need to Be Perfect
No one is perfect. If you put too much pressure on yourself the stress alone will slow your progress. The important thing is when you slip up to get right back on track. When trying to lose weight, a lapse does not mean relapse. One poor eating choice will not undo all that you have accomplished.

Results Don’t Come Overnight
As with most things, getting to your optimal goal weight won’t happen overnight. Give yourself a chance to succeed by being consistent over the long haul. You are a runner…this is a marathon NOT a sprint!

Don’t Be Afraid to Ask for Help!
There is absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t ask for help when you need it. Never forget that everyone is on your team. We are cheering you on yelling, “You’re looking good.”

Don’t Stop Being Awesome
If you’ve been reading the blog, you’re already a ROCKSTAR, WELL DONE!

The Scorecard

Ok, I created this scorecard in true runner fashion, here’s the legend—

In the Lead = means I’m doing great, keep it up!   Middle of the Pack = not bad but could be better;  DFL or Dead Freaking (PG-rated version) Last =  got work to do
